History
The Indonesian government nationalized the Dutch-owned company NV Netherlandsch-Indische Steenkolen Handel-Maatschappij (NV NISHM) and renamed it PN Menunda Kapal Tundabara, with its primary business being coal transportation and pilotage services. In 1966, PN Menunda Kapal Tundabara was renamed PN Bahtera Adhiguna.
Based on government regulations, PN Bahtera Adhiguna was changed to PT Bahtera Adhiguna (Persero) and its activities are bulk cargo and general cargo transportation services, wood transportation, ship agency services, EMKL, loading and unloading from/to ships.
PT Bahtera Adhiguna has established a subsidiary, namely PT PBM Adhiguna Putera, which specifically handles loading and unloading from/to ships.
The Government of the Republic of Indonesia has determined that the addition of State capital participation into the share capital of the State-Owned Enterprise (Persero) PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara originates from the transfer of all shares owned by the Republic of Indonesia to the State-Owned Enterprise (Persero) PT Pelayaran Bahtera Adhiguna.
