Starting 2022, PT Pelayaran Bahtera Adhiguna (PT BAg) has once again earned the trust of customers outside the PLN Group. This trust was realized with the signing of a coal transportation contract between PT Pelayaran Bahtera Adhiguna and PT Paiton Energy. The contract signing was carried out directly by PT Pelayaran Bahtera Adhiguna's President Director, Ruly Firmansyah, and Bayu Anggoro Widyanto, PT Paiton Energy's Chief Financial Officer, on Monday (January 3).
With a freight charter contract, the contract term is 5 years with the option of a 5-year extension. The annual cargo volume is approximately 1.5 million MT. To serve the coal transportation needs from KPC to PT Paiton Energy or Paiton PLTU units 7 and 8, PT BAg must provide two special Supramax vessels.
This trust is not solely due to PT BAg, but also to the support of shareholders, particularly the Coal Division of PT PLN (Persero), to secure coal supplies to maintain the reliability of power plants in the Java-Bali system. This trust, extended beyond the PLN group, also demonstrates PT BAg's superior value delivery to customers.
PT Pelayaran Bahtera Adhiguna President Director Ruly Firmansyah expressed his hope that this collaboration would be mutually beneficial and would create opportunities for other collaborations, such as jetty management and dredging, to support the coal shipping supply chain. "This trust further motivates us to provide the best for our customers and maintain shareholder trust in securing the electricity supply to the community," he concluded.
