Jakarta. PT Pelayaran Bahtera Adhiguna received an award from the National Energy Council (DEN) at an event titled "DEN Awards for the Energy Transition Program" (October 20th). The DEN Award was held as part of the Energy Transition Conference & Exhibition (ETCE) 2023. ETCE itself is DEN's effort to accelerate the energy transition towards Net Zero Emissions by 2060. The award recognizes companies, regions, and individuals who are committed to the energy transition.
Not only that, the award was also presented as the most favorite company in the transition program, but also as the transportation company that cares about decarbonization. The awards were presented by DEN Secretary General Djoko Siswanto, witnessed by DEN members and stakeholders.
Separately, PT Pelayaran Bahtera Adhiguna (BAg) President Director Tri Susanto stated that as part of the PLN group ecosystem and part of the PLN Energi Primer Indonesia subholding, BAg will support the implementation of and is committed to the national energy transition. "This award is a testament to our commitment not only to the company's business continuity but also to environmental sustainability," said Tri.
Tri added that in the company's business plan, BAg transports not only primary energy from coal but also gas and biomass, such as sawdust, to promote the energy transition program. Operationally, BAg has also utilized onshore charging as a replacement for the use of fuel-powered auxiliary engines (AEs) for cargo unloading operations. The benefits of onshore charging include reducing ship exhaust emissions, optimizing maintenance costs, and supporting the implementation of Green Ports. From another operational aspect, BAg has also used low-sulfur fuel and B35 to reduce ship exhaust emissions.
"Hopefully, this award will continue to inspire every BAg employee and stakeholder to create value in the company's sustainable business operations," Tri concluded.
